Pets and Companions Join Fallout Shelter in Latest Game Update

As an early Christmas gift to Fallout Shelter players, Bethesda’s latest update to Fallout Shelter now adds in pet companions to the game. The latest patch for the game will let you own dogs and cats within your shelter who can help defend and collect resources. Very little has been confirmed about pets, but rumor has it that pets/companions may not use any of your food supplies or resources.

It’s possible that pets may only be introduced to your vault through lunchboxes and could possibly act similar to the Mr. Handy in collecting resources from rooms.

Once you download the update, you will be given a pet for free that provides a random boost to one of your SPECIAL skillsets. Pets can be assigned to accompany any vault dweller, similar to how you equip weapons or clothing to a vault dweller.

In addition to pets, the latest patch adds new building structures and romantic pickup lines to Fallout Shelter on both Android and iOS.
